Alireza Gharabaghi

Alireza Gharabaghi is Professor of Neurosurgery and Head of the Division of Functional and Restorative Neurosurgery at the University of Tübingen. His clinical and research interests lie in the field of brain state-dependent neuromodulation, therapeutic closed-loop technology, restorative brain-machine interfaces and neuroprosthetics for neurorehabilitation of motor function in neurodegenerative disorders and following brain injury such as stroke. He has received the European Skull Base Society Award as well as the Traugott Riechert Award for Functional Neurosurgery, and was the first neurosurgeon ever to be conferred with the Hans Joachim Denecke Award.
