Prof. Jäckle research interest is focused on molecular processes and the mechanisms involved in the phenonenon of biological pattern formation during Drosophila embryogenesis. His research aims to better understand of the biochemical pathways and the molecular characterization of the regulatory networks leading to the establishment of the segmental organization of the embryo, organ formation and cell behaviour underlying morphogenesis. Recent work concerns the genetic basis for energy homeostasis in cells.
